Hair Color
Color should feel like it belongs to the person wearing it.
Hair color isn't one-size-fits-all.
The same blonde, brunette, copper, or pink can look completely different from one person to the next. That's part of what I love about it.
Every color appointment starts with the person in the chair.
Skin tone, natural hair color, texture, current condition, previous color, lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and the result you actually want to see in the mirror all matter when creating a plan.
Because bringing in an inspiration photo is helpful.
Copying and pasting somebody else's head onto yours? Slightly more complicated.
Color With a Plan
I approach hair color with both the final result and the health of the hair in mind.
Depending on your goals, that might mean dimensional color, blonding, rich brunettes, lived-in color, gray blending, vibrant shades, or a bigger transformation.
But getting there matters too.
Previous color, lightener, damage, the starting level of the hair, and what's realistically achievable in one appointment can all affect the process.
If something needs more than one session, I will tell you.
If I don't think your hair can safely handle what you're asking for right now, I'll tell you that too.
Beautiful color isn't very helpful if I destroy your hair getting there.
Let's Talk Maintenance
Some people love being in the salon every few weeks.
Some people absolutely do not.
Both are fine.
I consider how often you realistically want to return when planning your color. Placement, tone, contrast, and even the type of color service can influence how something grows out and how much maintenance it requires.
The goal is to create something that fits your life, not just something that looks good the day you leave.
Because your color should still make sense six weeks from now.
Healthy Hair Still Matters
Hair color can completely change the way someone feels.
It can add dimension, soften a look, make curls pop, create contrast, or give you the bright pink hair you've been thinking about for six months.
But I'm not interested in sacrificing the condition of the hair just to reach a certain color faster.
Sometimes the plan is straightforward.
Sometimes we need multiple appointments.
Sometimes we need to adjust the goal.
And sometimes the answer is, โNot today.โ
Annoying?
Maybe.
Better than your hair breaking off?
Definitely. ๐
