Cutting
A great haircut should still make sense after the salon styling is gone.
A haircut can look amazing when you're sitting in the salon chair.
The real test is what happens when you're standing in your bathroom trying to style it yourself.
I approach cutting by looking at the whole picture: texture, density, growth patterns, movement, lifestyle, styling habits, and how much maintenance you realistically want to do at home.
Because the goal isn't simply to remove length.
It's to create a shape that works with your hair and with you.
Your Hair Has a Say in the Haircut
Hair has growth patterns. It has areas that are thicker or thinner. Some sections want to flip one direction while another section has apparently decided we're doing something completely different.
Fighting all of that every morning gets old.
I consider how the hair naturally falls and moves when creating the shape of a haircut.
That doesn't mean your hair will magically style itself.
If I figure out how to do that, I'm retiring immediately. ๐
But a thoughtful haircut can make working with your hair a whole lot easier.
Let's Talk About Those Ends
Listen.
I know you've been growing your hair.
I know that inch matters to you.
But sometimes we're not preserving length anymore. We're preserving damage.
Healthy ends can completely change the way a haircut looks and feels. Hair can appear fuller, move better, and often become easier to style when the shape and condition of the ends are working together.
I would rather help you create a length that looks full, healthy, and intentional than keep damaged ends simply because they're technically still attached.
We'll talk about it first.
I'm not going to sneak up behind you with the scissors. ๐
A Haircut That Fits Your Life
Not everybody wants to spend thirty minutes styling their hair every morning.
And not everybody wants a wash-and-go haircut either.
Your haircut should fit the way you actually wear your hair.
If you air-dry most days, that's useful information.
If you blow it out every morning, that's useful too.
If your signature styling technique is putting it in a claw clip and hoping for the best...
Honestly? Also useful information.
The more I know about how you live with your hair outside the salon, the better I can create a haircut that makes sense for you.
See More Behind the Chair
Have Curly or Textured Hair?
I specialize in curly and textured hair and take additional factors like shrinkage, curl behavior, density, and styling routine into consideration when cutting curls.
Ready for a Fresh Shape?
Whether you're ready for a big change, cleaning up your current shape, growing your hair with a little more intention, or finally letting go of those emotional-support ends, I will help you create a haircut that works beyond the salon chair.
